You're Not the Only One

Tired of rising gas prices? Well get creative. If you want to see another way a friend of mine is saving on gas you need to read his blog about Hidalgo, it is quite a fun read--though a bit lengthy. As the ultimate alternative you could go solar powered like these guys did.

Suggestions?

They've been building high mileage cars for the European market (where gas prices have been through the roof for over a decade) for years. It was about three years ago I read about a VW Golf diesel that got no less than 68mpg, which was actually better than any commercial hybrid on the market at the time.

It'd be nice if car makers realized that there is a market for high mileage cars in America too.

Natural gas powered cars never caught on, but if you get your hands on one, Natural Gas is less than $1.50/gallon right now. And no need to go to the gas station. You just plug it in to your house every night. And it's good for the enviro...

I'd totally get into the conspiracy about why we're still using gas powered cars (did you know that in the 30's, electric race cars were actually beating the gas powered ones?), but truth be told, I really don't care
